Spa and Hot Tub

"Spa" and "hot tub" are two terms which have both come to be used for jetted tubs. They certainly do have a shared background. The first term, spa, originated with the location of Aquae Spadanae.

Today, that area has become the town of Spa, Belgium. It was famed for its healing hot springs. Both spa and hot tub options draw upon practices relating to such natural resources. Many people have visited the area since the fourteenth century to benefit from its waters.

Spa and hot tub treatments both use water for wellness. Spa options still may be centered around natural springs. Hot tubs provide jetted and heated water for wellness. It is no surprise that the terms have come to both be used for hot tub options.
